Hsinchu, Taiwan. — June 22, 2021 — SEMI Taiwan today announces the rescheduling of SEMICON Taiwan 2021 to either December 2021 or January 2022.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous adverse impact on the world since the beginning 2020. While Taiwan had the pandemic reasonably well contained before, unfortunately, there has been a surge of COVID-19 cases starting in the beginning of May. The government has raised the epidemic alert to Level 3, leading to the closure of facilities for large gatherings, such as exhibitions and conferences. Accordingly, today SEMI Taiwan announces the rescheduling of SEMICON Taiwan 2021 to either December 2021 or January 2022.
At the same time, SEMI Taiwan is actively working on a contingency plan for rescheduling of the event and will make an official announcement of the new date for SEMICON Taiwan 2021 afterwards. During the exhibition period, we will fully comply with CDC’s guidelines for ensuring the safety of exhibitors and visitors. We would like to emphasize that our exhibitors and visitors’ well-being remains our top concern.
In 2020, Taiwan’s semiconductor industry achieved a record output value topping NT$ 3 trillion (US $107.5 billion). Taiwan is expected to build on that performance and carry that growth momentum through 2021, setting the stage for SEMICON Taiwan as one of the most anticipated events in the global microelectronics community. Every year, professionals look forward to seeing the latest technologies, hearing insights from prominent industry leaders, conducting business, and networking with peers at the event.
Thanks again for all the media friends' continuous support and participation in SEMICON Taiwan. It is SEMI's sincere wish to be together with all the guests and partners at the rescheduled date.
